On our faith journey we will develop an attitude of detachment as we grow. In our baby stages we feel as though the only signs of active faith are matrial blessings sent our way. As we mature we begin to understand that everything that is here on earth will be consumed by firey judgement. What we stack up down here means very little. Every material status symbol is going to burn and melt. It is only what we do to rescue and impact souls that will matter beyond the earth. We may not like to think about it but there is coming a day when time will be no more. The real key to effecive living is doing things that will endure forever. Work it out!
